Arthur man in custody after two incidents involving drugs

Wellington County OPP have pressed charges against an Arthur man following two investigations.

On the morning of May 2, police responded to reports of a suspicious person on George Street in Arthur.

Police say they found a person in a stolen vehicle, containing stolen property.

A 30-year old man from East-Garafraxa Township has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent.

The passenger, a 30-year old man from Arthur, is charged with several offences, including possession of methamphetamine.

On May 4, Wellington OPP received another report on George Street, about a person being held against their will at a home.

Police found the victim, who was not hurt.

The 30-year old Arthur man was arrested again and faces charges for forcible confinement and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

He is in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Both investigations are still ongoing.
