Women’s hockey team reclaims Olympic gold

After losing to the Americans four years ago in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Canada’s women’s hockey team has reclaimed the gold.

Captain Marie-Philip Poulin scored twice. Sarah Nurse got the team’s third goal, and goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens made 38 saves.

The final was 3-2.

Up until the Olympics in South Korea, the Canadian Press said Canada had won four straight gold medals.

Canada also won a silver medal in the women’s ski cross.

Marielle Thompson was right behind Sweden’s Sandra Naeslund, who led the race from the start.

Germany’s Daniela Maier won the bronze medal.

So far, Canada has won 20 medals in Beijing, including four gold, five silver, and 11 bronze.
