Endangered Great Lakes piping plovers released in Lower Green Bay

For the first time in the state of Wisconsin, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released captive-reared Great Lakes piping plovers. Four 28-day-old chicks that had been rescued as eggs from an abandoned nest in the Apostle Islands were released at the Cat Island Restoration Site in Lower Green Bay, Wisconsin.
