RITA BALL

Rita Ball passed peacefully at South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in her 90th year.
Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Ball.
Loving mother of the late Amanda Alexander (Darryl) and the late Steven Ball.
Proud Grandma of Katrina (Mike), Natasha, RJ (Alicia), Ryan and Adam.
Rita held all of her nieces and nephews in her heart and will be fondly remembered by all of them.
Rita immigrated to Canada at the age of five with her family. She attended school in Kincardine, where she met Bob. Rita and Bob spent the early years of their marriage living in Toronto where they worked and started their family. Rita worked for many years at Bell Telephone and shared many stories of her love of the city. Rita and Bob then returned to Kincardine, where they owned and operated a cottage rental business on the lake and raised their family.
Easygoing by nature, Rita and Bob enjoyed many years of travel together, which they later shared with their grandchildren, flying them south for many holidays together. Always smiling, Rita’s humour and wit never wavered.
Rita’s grandchildren are extremely grateful to Dr. Gary Gurbin, Dr. Damian Gunaratne and the doctors and nurses at SBGHC, her home care nurses, volunteers and friends Laurie, Kim and Katie in Kincardine, who tirelessly cared for her. Rita was blessed with a beautiful long and happy life.
A private service will be held by family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the MS Society or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Huron Shores Cremation Services, 1-888-234-8990. Memorial available online at www.huronshorescremation.com.
