Georgian Bluffs council has appointed a new councillor to fill its vacant seat.

Isaac Shouldice will take the seat left vacant when Councillor-elect Mike Smith resigned for health reasons prior to the inauguration ceremony.

Council made the decision to appoint the candidate with the next highest number of votes rather than hold a by-election, as permitted by the Municipal Act.
