West Grey launches community survey on police services

1 min read

The Municipality of West Grey has launched a community survey for citizens to provide their input on policing services.

Mayor and Chair of the West Grey Police Services Board, Christine Robinson, says the consulting firm MNP is conducting the survey to compare the current police service with services that could be provided by Ontario Provincial Police.

“A decision on whether to keep the West Grey Police Service or switch to OPP policing will need to be made by council. So I certainly encourage citizens to participate in it,” said Robinson. “This is an important matter for West Grey and it’s equally important that we have citizen input.”

She adds a presentation with all the information MNP Consultants gathered will be shown to the new council in January, with a decision to be made by council by mid March.

Responses are anonymous and are submitted directly to the consultant.

The online survey will be available until November 10, 2022. Paper copies of the survey will be available at all West Grey library branches, the municipal office or by calling the municipal office at 519 369 2200.
