A slow-moving, low-pressure system continues to bring steady showers and rain to much of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) watershed.
The Authority reports waterways could exceed their banks depending on rainfall amounts, but severe flooding is not expected.
The Authority said the heaviest rainfall has been measured in the northern part of the watershed from Exeter to Seaforth and Clinton, where rainfall totals have surpassed 75 millimetres (mm) over the last two days.
There continue to be discrepancies in weather forecasts with regards to the forecasted path of the heaviest rainfall, but latest models show that rain late Tuesday, September 27 into the early evening is likely to be heavy across the ABCA watershed, most notably the northern portions.
While general amounts of 10-20 mm are likely, an additional 30-40 mm is possible with moisture off of Lake Huron.
Rainfall will taper off Tuesday evening before a period of dry weather settles in.
