Kincardine Bulldogs feature local players

By Doug Kennedy

When you have good local players on your PJHL team, it helps you in a lot of ways.

In the past, when the Kincardine Bulldogs had strong teams, it always had a solid group of local players. This year’s addition to the Bulldogs has that. They have five rookies that started out playing minor hockey in Kincardine.

Wilson Shipp, Ryan Tanner, Liam Colhoun, Jordan Beisel and Jordan Moulton are all first year local players for the Bulldogs. All five played minor hockey in Kincardine and also played some AAA for Grey Bruce Highlanders.

Noah Swann, John Graham and Kwade Beisel are all affiliated with the Bulldogs. They all played their minor hockey in Kincardine.

Bryce McFadden and Brendon Long are the two local veterans on the team. They played their minor hockey in Kincardine and played Junior B in Listowel and St. Marys, before playing for the Bulldogs.

The PJHL is hoping to return to play in February.

Steven Grant won the player of the month in the Pollock Division, for the month of December. The Bulldogs forward had five goals and three assists in six games. Grant played for a couple of seasons in Listowel before moving to Kincardine for work.

The Ripley Wolves travelled to Port Elgin during the holidays and came out on the good end of a 6-5 overtime win over Saugeen Shores. Garrett Meurs had a hat trick, with singles going to Jarrett Kuntz, Payton Dunlop and Nick Seiler. Cody Britton chipped in three assists and Dan Nicoloff had two assists. Nick Seiler scored the overtime winner from Britton and Meurs.

I wish I could tell you when the next game is, but I cannot. Hopefully, by the first week of February, we will get started again.
