An exhibition of watercolour paintings by Renee Knight will be on display at the St. Marys Station Gallery starting this weekend.

The artist is known for creating “intimate reflections of a rural lifestyle,” according to the gallery.

“Embracing the familiar and everyday she coins the extraordinary. A dramatic interplay of light and shadow, the illusion of the third dimension is created,” said a statement from St. Marys Station Gallery. “Therein lies the essence of this award-winning artist’s inspiration.”

Knight was born in England, but has done much of her artistic training here in Ontario. She earned a degree in Fine Arts from the Western University in London. The artist has found great success with watercolour, but she is best known for her coloured pencil creations.

Knight’s work is being featured at the Station Gallery starting Saturday. She will be in attendance for a meet and greet from 1 to 4 p.m. on opening day.

A special preview of the exhibition is taking place on Friday.

The exhibition is slated to stay at the gallery until May 22.
