Another blast of snow is on the way for parts of the region.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday, Environment Canada issued a travel advisory stating significant snowfall is expected in parts of the region, including London and eastern Middlesex County, Oxford County, Huron County, and Perth County. Up to 10 cm of snow is possible for some areas.
“An approaching low pressure system will make its way over Lake Erie tonight, bringing snow for much of southern Ontario. An enhanced area of snow may develop from Lucan through Peterborough, reducing visibilities in heavy snow and resulting in snowfall amounts closer to 10 centimetres,” a statement from the weather agency read.
Areas outside of the advisory will likely receive smaller amounts of snow, closer to 5 cm according to Environment Canada.
The snow is expected to move in Tuesday evening and continue overnight into Wednesday morning. Motorists are advised to adjust their driving habits for the changing road conditions as the snow may cause roads to become slippery, visibility may also be reduced at times.
For some areas, this will be the first significant snow event of season, while areas in and around London received its first dose of winter last weekend with snowfall amounts over 10 cm in some places.
