The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) has declared an outbreak of five cases at St. Mary’s High School in Owen Sound.

Eleven cohorts and one bus have been impacted due to this outbreak.

As a result, the health unit and Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) have decided to close the school to in-person learning.

The move is being made “out of an abundance of caution related to cohort dismissals, not due to Public Health direction or requirements,” a news release from GBHU read.

The health unit advises that all staff, students, and close contacts get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible.

GBHU is conducting drive-thru testing clinics for high-risk contacts from Monday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 15.

The clinics are located in the GBHU parking lot (101 17th Street East, Owen Sound) 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
