Owen Sound police seek stabbing suspect

Police in Owen Sound are searching for a suspect accused of stabbing a man over the weekend, leaving him in critical condition.
The incident happened Sunday at around 7:15 p.m., according to investigators. Police were called to an area along Sixth Avenue East and Nineteenth Street East for an altercation between two men.
When officers arrived, they located a 30-year-old man with several stab wounds. He was taken to Grey Bruce Health Services, where he remains as of Monday afternoon.
The victim and the suspect, a 34-year-old man of no fixed address, are reportedly known to each other. The accused took off before police arrived, and his whereabouts are unknown.
“Throughout the day today [Monday], there was an increased police presence in the area as the crime scene was processed. The Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response and Tactical and Rescue Units were also in the area and assisted in searching a nearby residence for the suspect, who was not located,” read a statement from Owen Sound police.
No other details about the suspect have been provided.
