Pearson: Old people get smarter when they think

She’s had enough.  One of this country’s predominant foreign affairs commentators, Janice Stein, the current and founding director of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, turned 80 last week, and she used the occasion to speak out.  Talking with TVO’s Steve Paikin, she spoke of the ageism older women face.  “There’s an assumption that every 80-year-old is the same.  We’re not and we have to make that point.  It’s ferocious out there.  You can’t discriminate against anyone anymore except older women.”  That’s a powerful statement given by one of Canada’s powerful women leaders.  Read More
