Obituary – Deborah Kent
Deborah Regina Kent passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at the Southampton Care Centre, at the age of 72.
Beloved mother of Wanda (Ronald) Purvis, John Smith (Futen Smythe) and Daniel (Beverly) Smith.
Cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also leaving to mourn her two sisters: Anne (Cyril) Rees and Madonna (Jean Marc) Fredette, and her nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her husband Daniel Kavanagh, parents Joseph and Marguerite “Rita” (née Hartley) Kent and grandson Daniel Albert Smith.
Deborah was born and lived on Bell Island, Newfoundland until the family moved to Ontario in 1967. Deb resided at the Southampton Care Centre for the last five years. She referred to it as her home. She loved the incredible staff and Mrs. B, her roommate. Deb looked at the staff and other residents as her extended family.
Private family arrangements have been made.
Memorial donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or Allies for Alley Cats would be appreciated as expression of sympathy.
