A recent robbery from a local store is under investigation by police as they ask for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
On January 23 at 9:25 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to a call at a Wal-Mart on Huron Road in Goderich. The store manager reported that a robbery had occurred. Two suspects, a male and a female, allegedly stole numerous items and loaded them into an SUV at the front of the store and sped off. The male suspect allegedly brandished a knife and threatened employees, saying he had a gun, but no gun was ever actually seen. The SUV the suspects left in was last seen travelling through the parking lot and speeding east down Huron Road.
The male suspect is described as a 30-year-old Caucasian, 6′ tall, with short hair, a brown beard and glasses. He was wearing a black and white NIKE track suit, a black baseball hat with a green brim, and black running shoes. He left the Wal-Mart in a stolen brown jacket.
The female suspect is described as a 30-year-old Caucasian, 5’5″ tall with red dyed hair. She was wearing a pink jacket, black toque, black tights, and black boots with fur tops.
The vehicle is described as a small, older model SUV, possibly a GMC/Chevrolet Tracker four-door model with a spare tire on the rear. A small plow attachment was affixed to the front of the SUV. The front right wheel rim is either black or rusty. The vehicle is believed to be a manual transmission and has a noisy exhaust.
Police are asking anyone who may be able to identify the suspects or the vehicle to immediately contact Huron County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
