PHOTOS: Masters track and field

Camaraderie is a big draw for the women who belong to the London Western Track and Field Club and get together regularly to practise throwing the shot put and discus. “These women are amazing, and it’s great for our younger athletes to see them and realize there’s a place in this sport for everybody,” says their throwing coach Sylvia Kontra. Established in 1970, the London Western Track and Field Club caters to all ages and abilities and offers training throughout the year.
