Park worker allegedly assaulted by angry Goderich resident

A Goderich man was arrested by police after an argument with a worker trimming trees in a park became physical.
According to Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers were called to Sunset Park on Essex Street at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday for reports of an assault.
During the incident, municipal employees were in the park for an annual tree trimming when a resident reportedly started yelling at the workers. Police say one of the staff members tried to mediate the situation which is when the man allegedly assaulted one of the workers.
No serious injuries were reported.
When police arrived, they arrested a 70-year-old man with one count of assault. He is scheduled to appear in court in January 2023.
