The Huron County OPP are hoping to make collision reporting easier for people in the local area.
The OPP say that the Collision Reporting Centre is now open in Clinton. The goal of the centre is “to improve public safety and create efficiencies for drivers involved in property damage collisions,” according to the release. The CRC opened on October 4, 2021 and police are hopeful drivers continue using this service. It is located at the Huron County OPP Detachment located at 325 Albert Street in Clinton and is open Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Police say you should use a Collision Reporting Centre following a “collision involving property damage and in which no injuries are sustained by any of the involved parties.” Police are also reminding everyone that drivers involved in a collision must exchange driver’s licence, vehicle and insurance information with the other involved drivers, and if the combined damage is estimated to be over $2,000, you are required to report the collision.
