New court documents in the fight over Line 5 show that an energy industry consultant hired by Enbridge estimates shutting down the pipeline that runs under the Straits of Mackinac would have a minimal impact on fuel prices. According to the report prices for gasoline, jet fuel and diesel would rise by an estimated 0.5 cents per gallon, however the impact in Ontario would be far greater, closer to 5 cents per gallon.
