Construction has begun on the new Bruce County Paramedic Services station in Port Elgin.
This facility will serve as the headquarters for Paramedic Services and is located on Bruce County’s Lakeshore Hub property.
“With easier access to Highway 21, this new facility enhances our ability to provide emergency care in Saugeen Shores and beyond,” says Paramedic Services Chief Steve Schaus.
The facility features a paramedic simulator lab for paramedic training, two large meeting rooms that can hold up to 32 people, a large training gym, hoteling workstations for County staff, and rough-ins for two double-head Electric Vehicle charging stations.
“Having the additional training and meeting space will also expand our training capabilities and support our paramedicine services,” added Schaus.
“This new Paramedic Services station in Port Elgin is a key long-term investment in emergency services for our region. We are ensuring that our County Paramedics are fully equipped with the training tools they need to deliver emergency care and serve Bruce County residents,” said Warden Janice Jackson.
Construction of this approximately $8M three-bay paramedic station is expected to be completed by the early summer of 2023.
