After getting my two shots and booster I thought it would be great to go door to door without anyone asking such questions as “should I disinfect the door knob or the bell you just touched”? You do not stop because of Covid there are people counting on you to raise money for charity. For the past 11 years I have been raising money for the Grey/Bruce and Huron County Alzheimer Societies. When I complete my “walks” in May I hope to reach the $100,000.00 mark which I never thought to be possible. At this time I have to give credit where credit is due; that is, the local newspapers. I grew up in Kinloss Twp. attended Lucknow District High School and all we could afford was the basics in life which included a local newspaper. There was local good and bad news of course while the editors no doubt took some heat at times but you realized local news is always good news. My wife and I subscribe to local papers and I must congratulate the editors as well as the many reporters who promote all fundraisers. I cannot thank all of you enough except to say sure I went door to door and collected this money but it was the local newspapers that encouraged everyone to give to charity and they did just that.
