By Doug Kennedy

It will be a busy week at Christmas break as 37 teams are competing in the Kincardine Silver Stick tournament this year. There are 23 bantam teams playing in Kincardine, along with 14 peewee teams playing in Tiverton.

What makes it even more exciting is the Kincardine and Huron Bruce Peewees have really good teams.

The Kincardine Peewees open against Listowel on Dec. 27 at noon. On Dec. 28 they play Mount Forest at 9:40 a.m. and BCH at 3.35 p.m.

Huron Bruce (Ripley-Lucknow) opens against Wingham on Dec. 27 at 9:40 a.m. They also play Shallow Lake the same day at 4:45 p.m. Their third game is on Dec. 29 at 2:25 p.m. against TCDMHA.

Playoffs start on Dec. 29 in the evening.

Kincardine bantams have a record of 11-7-3 this season. They play their first game on Dec. 27. Their first game in Kincardine is against Walkerton at 6 p.m. right after the opening ceremonies. Game two is on Dec. 28 against Tavistock at noon. After that, they go into a playoff round.

Huron Bruce bantams play two games on Dec. 27. At 8:30 a.m. they play Wingham and at 1:15 p.m. they play Blyth-Brussels. On Dec. 28 they play Hagersville at 8:20 in Tiverton.

The finals are at the Kincardine arena on Dec. 30. It is always a great day of hockey that day.
