Police charge driver that rolled stolen vehicle

Huron County OPP have charged a Howick Township resident following a crash involving a stolen vehicle.

On November 22nd at 7:24 p.m., officers responded to a rollover crash located on Harriston Road near B Line Road. Police were notified on the way to the crash that an SUV was stolen just prior to the crash from a residence in Wroxeter. Officers noticed the crashed vehicle matched the description of the stolen SUV when they arrived on the scene. Paramedics assessed the driver, and following that police arrested the suspect for stealing the now crashed SUV. The accused was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment and a search revealed the accused to be in possession of suspected Fentanyl.

As a result, a 26-year-old from Wroxeter is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000 and Possession of a Schedule I Substance Fentanyl. The accused was later released from custody with an upcoming court date.
