Power remains off for hundreds of Midwestern Ontario residents

Hydro One reports about 1,200 customers are still without power following Tuesday’s severe weather that knocked down trees and power lines. Hydro One expects to have some of those customers reconnected by about 4pm Thursday, but the power won’t be restored in the Saugeen Shores area until about 9pm Thursday night.

Meantime Westario Power is continuing work to restore power to about 200 residents north of the Saugeen River in Southampton and in parts of Port Elgin. Although most residents there should have the lights back this afternoon, some customers near Lustig Lane may have to wait until early evening.

Westario Power continues to respond to many isolated power outages and electrical emergencies  across many areas impacted by the storm. As power is safely restored, isolated outages affecting a smaller number of customers may still be present.

Should you remain without power or experience an electrical emergency, please report to After-hours support at 1-866-978-2746.
