Sleeping Bear Dunes piping plover fledglings successfully make 1,200-mile flight to wintering grounds

The first juvenile piping plovers from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore’s summer 2021 fledglings were spotted this week in coastal Georgia, one of the endangered species’ wintering grounds.
