Hensall friends share a million dollars

Two friends from Hensall are sharing the winning ticket for a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million from the June 18, 2021 LOTTO MAX draw.

Jason Clarke and Michael Hoffman, both 48, are lifelong friends born one day apart and have been playing the lottery together for about eight years

Mike plans to make investments and plan a trip with his wife when it’s safe to travel again. Jason plans to purchase a trailer and pay of his mortgage.

The winning ticket was purchased at D&D Variety on King Street in Hensall.

“I scanned our ticket using the OLG Lottery App and I knew we won something but wasn’t sure of the amount. My wife and I went to knock on Mike’s door to share the good news,” said Jason. “At first I didn’t want to get out of bed, but got up and realized it was something good,” added Mike.

The friends and their wives went to the store to check the ticket. “We were happy and excited, but our wives were screaming and cheering more than us,” Mike laughed.
