Huron County Ontario Provincial Police have accepted a $1,000 donation for Special Olympics Ontario.
Last week Huron County OPP Sergeant Russ Nesbitt, the coordinator for the Huron OPP Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, accepted a cheque from Dave Corrie from Corrie’s Foodland in Clinton.
Nesbitt says “Corrie’s Foodland has been a very generous long-standing supporter of Special Olympics Ontario by donating cash, food items and generously hosting fundraising BBQ’s. Generous support helps local Special Olympians compete in 18 different sports. Some athletic events include: Dance, Pickleball, Kayaking, Badminton, Skating, Bowling, Curling, Golf, Swimming and Volleyball.”
Although the Torch Run is taking place in a virtual format this year opportunities still exist to donate and support the Torch Run. Raffle tickets and Torch Run T-Shirts can be found online at www1.torchrunontario.com
