Huron-Bruce hospitals to receive over $6.5 million in new funding from the province

Hospitals in Huron and Bruce counties will be receiving and splitting over $6.5 million in additional funding from the province.

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson announced the funding increase for the hospitals in a release on June 23rd with funding doled out in 2021 and 2022.

Fifteen hospitals will split the funding, including four hospitals within the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich, Clinton Public Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital, South Huron Hospital Association in Exeter, Wingham & District Hospital and 6 hospitals within Grey Bruce Health Services.

Funding is being provided through the provincial 2021 Budget via the Protecting People’s Health and Our Economy part of the Ontario Action Plan.

“Our local hospitals and all their staff have done a fantastic job during the pandemic,” said Thompson. “They have risen to the challenges over these past 15 months and these investments will help ensure Ontario is supporting state of the art health care now and into the future.”
